Updated Office Policy

During this period of elevated health risk we are pleased to once again be able to open our office and offer you the highest level of eyecare in a safe environment.

Our office policy places the health of our patients and employees first. We have made extensive updates to both our office and protocols to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19.

These policy changes are designed to minimize patient time and interaction in the office. We disinfect the office extensively between patients and have moved our patient scheduling and forms online to further minimize general exposure. Please watch for email guidance in preparation for your visit once it has been scheduled.

Stop! Safety First!

What To Expect At Your Upcoming Eye Exam

  1. Patients will be asked these questions over the phone when making an appt:
    1. Have you tested positive for COVID-19? Have you been tested for COVID-19 and waiting for the results?
    2. Do you have fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath?
    3. Have you recently lost your sense of smell or taste?
    4. Do you have red eye or eyes (conjunctivitis can be a presenting sign of COVID-19)
    5. Do you have diarrhea or nausea?
    6. If you don’t currently have any of the above symptoms, have you experienced any of these symptoms in the last 14 days?
    7. Have you been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
    8. Have you traveled outside the US in the past 14 days?
    9. Have you traveled within the US by air, bus or train within the past 14 days?
  2. Only the patient is allowed in the office unless patient is a minor or elderly; then one guardian or one caregiver is permitted to accompany the patient.
  3. Patients are required to wear a mask before entering the office; guardian and caregiver also need to wear a mask if they will accompany the patient. Otherwise, we will not be able to see the patient for their appointment.
  4. The Patient's temperature will be taken upon entry into the office as a precautionary measure.
  5. Retinal photo is prefered over dilation unless patient is diabetic, hypertensive or complains of flashes of light and floaters. We would prefer to dilate patients on their next exam unless medically necessary.
  6. Patients are asked to call the office upon arrival and wait in the car or outside. We will call them back or go out to get them when we’re ready to see them.
  7. Patients will be requested to make payment over the phone before appointment whenever possible to minimize the time you spend in the office.
  8. Patients will be guided to wash hands upon entering the office.
  9. We do not offer any restroom facilities at this time for safety reasons. Please plan accordingly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
